[Dispatch=Myeong-ju Lee] The film "Assassin(s)" (directed by Huh Jin-ho) topped the box office on its opening day.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated cinema ticket system, "Assassin(s)" attracted 134,464 moviegoers on the 23rd and went straight to number one at the box office.

The outlook for Chuseok holiday box office performance has brightened. It surpassed the opening score of "The Man Living with the King" (110,000 viewers), which captured the Lunar New Year holiday period this year.

It also held an advantage in advance reservation rates. As of 9 a.m. on the 24th, "Assassin(s)" recorded an advance reservation rate of 31.6%. A total of 269,631 people made advance reservations.

Audience response to the film has also been positive. It has been evaluated as suitable for family viewing. The CGV Golden Egg Index, which reflects actual viewers' ratings, reached 97%.

"Assassin(s)" is a mystery thriller. It traces the suspicions and background of a First Lady assassination attempt that was broadcast live nationwide on August 15, 1974.

Meanwhile, "Tazza: Song of Beelzebub" came in at number two with 103,368 viewers. "Odyssey" fell to third place with 41,208 viewers.
