'Assassin(s), enjoyed Chuseok special...1.4 million mobilized during holiday period'

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticket sales system, "Assassins" drew 1.407 million moviegoers during the Chuseok holiday period (24th-27th). The cumulative audience stands at 1.566 million.

It displayed overwhelming box office momentum. It created nearly a twofold difference compared to "Tazza: The Song of Beelzebub" (Director Choi Guk-hee), which maintains the #2 box office position with a score of 7.1 million viewers.

However, whether the box office success will continue remains unclear. As of 8 a.m. on the 28th, its advance ticket reservation rate dropped to 3rd place (11.6%). The #1 position is held by "Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island" (37.4%).

"Assassins" is a mystery thriller. It takes as its subject the shooting of the First Lady that was broadcast live nationwide on August 15, 1974. It is a story that traces the suspicions and circumstances surrounding it.
