[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myung-joo] Actor Minho will not attend the Busan Film Festival event.
The Busan International Film Festival office announced on the 1st through SNS the cancellation of "Actors House: Minho," which was scheduled to take place at Shinsegae Department Store in Busan on the 7th.
This event is a signature program of the Busan Film Festival. Minho was scheduled to meet with Busan audiences alongside Kim Go-eun, Kim Min-ha, Ryu Seung-ryong, Ju Jihoon, and Shin Min-a.
The festival side refrained from commenting on the cancellation reason for "Actors House: Minho," citing "unavoidable circumstances." They added, "We ask for the understanding of our audiences."
Some are saying that the controversy surrounding the film "Assassin(s)" may have influenced the cancellation decision. Minho played the role of a new reporter in the film.
"Assassin(s)" is a work based on the shooting incident of Yuk Young-soo on August 15, 1974. The film depicts various questions surrounding the incident.
However, it sparked controversy over historical distortion. While it concluded as Moon Se-gwang's sole crime, it presented the possibility of a large political power behind it or other accomplices.
Hybe Media Corp. denied the suspicions of historical distortion. "It is not a film produced to confirm a specific conclusion or deny existing facts," they explained.
