According to the Korean Film Council's integrated cinema ticket system, 'Odyssey' drew 46,945 viewers on the 5th. The cumulative audience is 12,045,151.
It has ranked 21st on the all-time domestic box office (by audience count). It surpassed hit films such as 'Taegeuk Flag Flying' (11.74 million) and 'Exhumation' (11.91 million).
Among foreign films, it ranks in the top 5 all-time hits. It is 1.6 million viewers away from 'Avatar' (13.62 million), which holds 3rd place, and 500,000 viewers away from 'Aladdin' (12.55 million) at 4th place.
'Odyssey' is director Christopher Nolan's second 10-million film. Since its release on August 5th, it surpassed 10 million cumulative viewers in 33 days.
It continues to perform strongly at the box office. More than two months after release, it is steadily drawing audiences. As of 3 p.m. on the 6th, it recorded 2nd place with 14.9% advance reservations.
Meanwhile, 'Odyssey' tells the story of Odysseus (played by Matt Damon), a hero victorious in the Trojan War, overcoming trials and returning to his kingdom.
