[Dispatch=Lee Myeong-ju] "Production involvement allegations? Kim Min's actual residence" (producers of 'I Live Alone')
The MBC-TV program 'I Live Alone' denied allegations of production involvement regarding actor Kim Min's appearance.
A representative from 'I Live Alone' said in a phone call with Dispatch on the 7th, "That house (that appeared on air) is indeed where Kim Min actually resides."
They drew a line against production claims circulating in some quarters. "The production team did not carry out any separate tidying or additional setup for filming," they added.
Regarding the situation where Kim Min operated a generator to produce electricity, they said, "It's a house that originally didn't have electricity," and "it was not set up separately for filming."
They also addressed the recruitment process. The 'I Live Alone' team conveyed that, "We've been impressed since 'Casino.' We've been enjoying recent works and conducted meetings."
They added, "Upon hearing about (Kim Min's) lifestyle, we learned he lives in an old house and also teaches hapkido. We judged that we could show various aspects."
Kim Min first revealed his daily life on 'I Live Alone' which aired on the 2nd. He was renting in an approximately 90-year-old house located in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province.
It drew attention with rare sights including exposed ceiling beams, self-generated electricity through a generator, and flickering light bulbs due to power shortages.
After the broadcast, some netizens raised theories of production involvement or direction. They raised questions based on road view screens from map services filmed in July.
Meanwhile, Kim Min is an actor who has garnered attention for his exotic appearance and fluent foreign language skills. He has appeared in dramas including 'Casino,' 'Shopping Mall of Killers 2,' and 'For Hands.'
