"Still, a relatable story"…N.Flying, comeback Q&A

[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju] N.Flying returns with a new album.

N.Flying will release their mini-album ninth "Still" through various music sites on the 8th at 6 p.m. The music video for the title track "Embers" will also be released the same day.

"Still" contains stories about things that remain in the end even as time passes. It includes seven tracks: "Embers," "You Worked Hard," "To You Who Don't Love Me," and more.

The members participated in the production of songs on the new album. Lee Seung-hyeop is credited for writing and composing all tracks, and Yu Hee-seung's name appears in the credits for "To You Who Don't Love Me."

"Embers" is a rock song featuring a heavy rhythm section and poetic guitar riffs. Since it started from actual conversations between members, it contains sincere feelings.

Meanwhile, N.Flying plans to begin comeback activities starting with an appearance on Mnet's "M Countdown."

<The following is N.Flying's Q&A regarding the release of "Still">

Q1. First, please share your feelings about making a comeback with mini-album ninth "Still."

Lee Seung-hyeop: We're making a comeback with a mini-album after a long time. Above all, I'm happy to be promoting with our NPIA!

Cha Hun: We've returned this time with warm songs to comfort your daily lives, so we ask for a lot of anticipation.

Kim Jaehyun: It's wonderful! I'm very nervous about doing music shows after such a long time. I hope many people will reignite the passion they've forgotten through N.Flying's "Embers (Still)."

Yu Hee-seung: I'm happy to be able to share good music with our NPIA and many people.

Seo Dong-sung: I'm so happy to return with this album "Still," where we've expressed things anyone can relate to through N.Flying's sensibility. Please listen a lot!

Q2. What are the highlights of this album?

Cha Hun: Since each track has different appeal, I think there will be fun in listening to each song.

Kim Jaehyun: I think the "message," one of N.Flying's greatest strengths, is the point. Especially in this title track "Embers (Still)," I hope you'll check your small spark once more. Also, please feel the message that each B-side carries!

Yu Hee-seung: This album contains stories that could be ours or stories anyone might experience once. I think it's an album you can relate to.

Q3. Please introduce the title track "Embers (Still)."

Lee Seung-hyeop: There's a lyric that says "That sky is red today," and I wrote it with the thought that the moment you're feeling right now will become the hottest moment once it passes. I hope you'll feel this moment fully, just like that lyric.

Cha Hun: "Embers (Still)" opens and closes with guitar solos, so it's a song I feel even more attached to. At first it felt somewhat lonely, but at the end it expressed embers that start to burn again through guitar. I hope it resonates well with you.

Seo Dong-sung: I hope "Embers (Still)" becomes a chance to reignite passion that may have cooled without realizing it.

Q4. Besides the title track, I'm curious about each member's favorite B-side.

Lee Seung-hyeop: I like "Cosmic Dust (Fading Away)" and "You Worked Hard (My Dearest)." "Cosmic Dust (Fading Away)" has great energy as a song itself, and "You Worked Hard (My Dearest)" feels comforting to me.

Cha Hun: As I keep saying, "Cosmic Dust (Fading Away)" is my favorite song of this album. The chord progression and melody line of the chorus makes it feel like an N.Flying song to anyone who hears it, so I like it even more.

Kim Jaehyun: Oh "Cosmic Dust (Fading Away)"! Oh no... "You Worked Hard (My Dearest)"... It's really hard to choose. This is the hardest question.

Yu Hee-seung: "To You Who Don't Love Me (Wake Up)." I wrote it too, but from the moment I worked with hyung Seung-hyeop to the moment the song came out, everything was so much fun. The message of telling myself who doesn't love myself to get it together seems like it will give strength to me and to anyone listening to this song!

Seo Dong-sung: "Cosmic Dust (Fading Away)." I like best the part at the beginning of the song where Hee-seung hyung sings alone.

Q5. The title track "Embers (Still)" and the B-side "Cosmic Dust (Fading Away)" were pre-released on the "&CON5 : into REM" tour stage. Were there impressive reactions when you first revealed the new songs and continued the performances, or have there been changes in how you approach the songs?

Lee Seung-hyeop: I'm always very nervous when first releasing new songs, but as I perform both songs more, I feel the emotions deepening more and more. These songs feel particularly precious in how I approach them.

Kim Jaehyun: At the end of "Embers (Still)," there's a part where Hee-seung sings "It's embers~." When we first played it for our NPIA, even though the song had ended, the atmosphere remained quiet as if we were holding our breath. At that moment, I thought, "Ah, our sincerity has reached them."

Yu Hee-seung: When we performed and showed the feelings we put in the song in front of NPIA, I felt more overwhelmed and emotional.

Q6. Is there an episode from the album production process that stands out?

Lee Seung-hyeop: During production, "Cosmic Dust (Fading Away)" was particularly difficult because the arrangement didn't come together. The sound I imagined and the sound we created kept not matching. We let it sit for a long time and then pulled it back out, and such a great idea came to me that I was so happy.

Cha Hun: As always, I think we paid a lot of attention to recording tone. Especially since "Cosmic Dust (Fading Away)" is my favorite song, I put more heart into recording it. I remember trying hard to express cosmic dust floating in space through guitar.

Kim Jaehyun: During music video filming, there were many beautiful moments that happened on the spot. The director quickly caught them and said, "Let's use this!" and the video was created that way. I think this music video is a work created by all members really burning their embers brightly.

Yu Hee-seung: The music production, recording, and music video all proceeded happily with all members sharing that feeling of "Yes, this is it. This is what we like." There were many beautiful places where we filmed the music video with the members, so those memories remain so beautifully.

Seo Dong-sung: During music video filming, there was a scene where hyung Seung-hyeop was driving a classic car, but he kept not being able to start the engine, so I have a funny memory of that.

Q7. What is your goal through this album promotion?

Lee Seung-hyeop: I hope this becomes strength and energy for NPIA and everyone who listens to our songs.

Cha Hun: Our unchanging goal seems to be comforting many people through music and bringing them happiness. Personally, I still want to achieve first place!

Kim Jaehyun: I just hope you'll understand N.Flying's sincerity.

Yu Hee-seung: Rather than great achievements, I want to safely and healthily build precious memories with NPIA one by one.

Seo Dong-sung: My goal is to become like gasoline for those who are currently in an ember state.

Q8. Finally, please share one last message with NPIA.

Lee Seung-hyeop: NPIA! Our mini ninth album is finally out. I'm so so happy to meet the ninth album with you. I'll be N.Flying singing warmly in your hearts. Fighting fighting!

Cha Hun: Our always grateful and beloved NPIA! You must have had high expectations too, so I hope this album makes your days a little happier. I love you!

Kim Jaehyun: I'm always grateful, and because you always support us from beside, we can sing and play with sincerity. While drums and drum sticks are very important to me, without NPIA it all becomes meaningless. Thank you so much for becoming such an important part of my life and always adding wood to the embers inside me!

Yu Hee-seung: NPIA! I hope you listen to this album a lot and find comfort. Please support this promotion too!

Seo Dong-sung: Just as NPIA becomes our strength, we want to become strength for NPIA too. Thank you always!
