'Rookie Director' Kim Yeon-kyung has returned as an experienced director. She takes on a new challenge with her refined coaching skills. The goal is to establish a new professional team.

Seungkwan, a reliable supporter, joins this season as well. He has expanded his role from manager to head of public relations. He lends his efforts in various ways for the team's growth.

The process they share has become more fierce. They constantly deliberated and clashed to build a better team. They unfold a dreamlike journey of growth once again.

'Rookie Director Kim Yeon-kyung 2' held a production presentation on the 8th at MBC in Mapo-gu, Seoul. PD Kwon Rak-hee, PD Lee Jae-woo, Kim Yeon-kyung, Seungkwan, and Yang Hyo-jin attended.

In 'Rookie Director Kim Yeon-kyung 2', Kim Yeon-kyung and 'Guaranteed Victory Wonderdogs' take on a bigger goal. While Season 1 depicted the growth process of underdogs, this season has set 'establishing the 8th professional team' as its goal.

Kim Yeon-kyung expressed her participation feelings, saying, "I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with players who were not given many opportunities and to work again as a director."

She addressed the shortcomings felt in Season 1. Kim Yeon-kyung reflected, "Since I was taking on the director role for the first time, it was difficult to turn what I have into a team system. It also took time to make the players understand."

This time, she focused on displaying high-quality gameplay from the start. She explained, "I thought about how players could quickly learn the volleyball I envision in my head. I made efforts to systematize this."

She also refined the coaching details. Kim Yeon-kyung said, "The most improved part is detail," and added, "I paid attention to fine points such as timeout usage."

Seungkwan took on the role of head of public relations this season. His position changed from manager last season. His role is to support players, coaches, and staff while also leading the team through meetings with the production crew.

He said, "I have more work to do," and revealed, "For this season, I thought about which direction our team should go to help establish the professional team."

He was able to participate in the filming before his military service. Seungkwan said, "From the end of Season 1, I wanted to definitely be together for Season 2. Rather than appointing a successor, I wanted to handle it myself."

His passion also grew. He said, "My affection for the program grew through Season 1," and added, "On days when there was no filming, I met with the PD to discuss, and I adjusted my schedule to participate in all filming sessions by any means."

As head of public relations, he also highlighted the team's strengths. He said, "We were loved so much that we won 6 awards at last year's MBC Entertainment Awards," and emphasized, "Not only that, but all staff and cast members are sincere about volleyball."

One of the Season 2 highlights is 'retry auditions'. Players who participated in past selection rounds undergo the selection process again to join this season.

Kim Yeon-kyung personally oversaw the selection. Kim Yeon-kyung recalled, "For Season 2, a considerable number of players showed interest," and said, "Since many players who were released from professional teams often pursue different paths, the players were very pleased that a new path was opening."

She prioritized condition above all else. Kim Yeon-kyung said, "I considered the condition of the players as most important," and pointed out, "There were players with injuries and those who had not been playing matches, so I judged that observing current condition was most important."

She continued, "I tried to understand each player's strengths well," and added, "I selected while thinking about what good role each player could fulfill."

Kim Yeon-kyung's fiery instructions, which are more powerful than last season, are also worth watching. Yang Hyo-jin raised expectations, saying, "I felt fortunate that I could meet her as a player versus player."

Finally, PD Lee said, "We will move forward aggressively without thinking of failure," and added, "We have included many stories from the prequel. We hope you will watch with great anticipation."

Seungkwan shouted, "While filming this time, I shouted a lot and almost shed tears," and said, "You will be able to feel more of our program's charm that was appreciated in Season 1."

Kim Yeon-kyung said, "We truly prepared with sincerity," and added, "We poured in efforts to build a good team together with the players and new coaching staff. We ask for much interest."

Meanwhile, 'Rookie Director Kim Yeon-kyung 2' airs its first episode on the 11th at 9:10 p.m.
