[Dispatch=Reporter Park Hye-jin] Mino from WINNER has apologized for violating the Military Service Act.
On the 9th, Mino posted a handwritten letter on his SNS saying, "I sincerely apologize with my head bowed for causing concern to many people because of me."
Dispatch first reported Mino's alleged poor service conduct in December 2024. It was revealed that he was absent without permission for 102 out of 430 work days.
The Seoul Western District Court Criminal Division 10 (Judge Junkyu Seong) sentenced Mino to one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence on the 1st. Mino avoided actual imprisonment.
Eight days after the verdict, Mino said, "I should have clarified my position sooner, but it became too late," and "I apologize for making you wait for so long," bowing his head once again.
Regarding the violation of the Military Service Act, he said, "Above all, I am very sorry for disappointing the young people who are faithfully fulfilling their military service obligations, as well as the fans who have cherished me more than anyone else."
His stance is one of regret and reflection. "Every day has been filled with regret. I feel ashamed and angry at my past irresponsible choices," and "I will reflect on my foolish mistakes without avoiding them," he conveyed.
Finally, he said, "I will faithfully carry out the remaining procedures and obligations ahead," and "I will not forget this incident and keep it in my heart, and I will live with greater responsibility," apologizing once more.
