[Dispatch=Reporter Park Hye-jin] Director Bong Joon-ho's first feature-length animation 'ALLY' will be unveiled next July.
CJ ENM announced on the 9th that the release date for 'ALLY' has been confirmed. It will premiere in France on July 14 next year. It will also meet audiences in Korea in July. It is scheduled to be released in the United States as well.
'ALLY' is a story about deep-sea fish living in an undersea canyon who are curious about the human world. Baby pig squid ALLY and friends begin a journey to the world above the surface following an aircraft crash.
Based on Director Bong's unique imagination, the film promises fantastic visuals and action-packed sequences. It will also deliver Bong Joon-ho's signature delightful humor and warm emotion.
Director Bong challenges a feature-length animation for the first time with 'ALLY'. Director Yoo Jae-sun of 'Sleep' participated as a co-writer.
World-renowned actors including Alex Jane Go, Ayo Edebiri, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Finn Wolfhard, and Rachel House provide voice acting.
Top-tier production teams from 12 countries including Korea, France, and Britain have come together. Kim Jae-hyung, who participated in 'Toy Story 4' and 'Inside Out', served as animation supervisor.
Marcin Jakubowski of Netflix animation 'Klaus' serves as production designer. David Lipman from 'Shrek' and 'Shrek 2' participated as a member of the production team.
Studio DNEG, which handled VFX for 'Inception' and 'Dune', is also involved. The visual completeness of the work has been elevated. 'ALLY' will meet global audiences in the second half of next year following post-production.
