[Dispatch=Lee Myeong-joo] Actress Kim You-jung reveals a new side of herself.
Kim You-jung appears in tvN's weekend drama "100 Days of Lies" (screenplay by Ryu Bo-ri, directed by Yoo In-sik and Kim Yun-jin), which airs for the first time on the 10th. She plays Lee Ga-kyung, a posed interpreter for the Japanese Government-General of Chosun.
This work is a period drama set against anti-Japanese resistance. It depicts the story of a Gyeongseong pickpocket-turned-informant and a Japanese Government-General of Chosun interpreter meeting at the heart of the enemy.
Lee Ga-kyung, played by Kim You-jung, is a pickpocket with outstanding resourcefulness who roamed the streets of Gyeongseong. While gathering money to leave Chosun, she receives a proposal from an anti-Japanese organization and becomes an informant.
She displays multifaceted aspects. She is set to delicately express her cunning demeanor, her bold composure even in moments of crisis, and the complex emotions she faces before fate.
Particularly since Lee Ga-kyung is set as a posed interpreter for the Japanese Government-General of Chosun, proficient language abilities are essential. Kim You-jung handled acting in three languages: Korean, Japanese, and English.
Ahead of the first broadcast of "100 Days of Lies," she shared her hopes. "I hope it becomes a warm work that comforts many viewers and allows them to reflect on history and life," she said.
Meanwhile, "100 Days of Lies" airs for the first time that evening at 9:10 p.m.
