[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju Reporter] Director Park Hun-jung's new film arrives domestically next month.
Distributor Mindmark announced on the 13th, "Director Park Hun-jung, who has built a distinctive world, returns on November 25 with the film 'Sad Tropics.'"
'Sad Tropics' is an action noir. The story follows members of a killer organization who, following a single incident, grow suspicious of one another and swear bloody revenge.
The director's new work drew attention from the planning stage. He has been recognized for his outstanding sense of the action genre through the 'Witch' series and 'New World.'
The film garnered international film festival awards even before its release. It received major awards at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival and the Etrange Film Festival.
Related teaser posters and trailers have also been unveiled. The poster captures a hand gripping a gun and, beyond it, a figure wearing an eerie mask.
The trailer began with a narration stating, "The master (played by Kim Myung-min) is dead." Upon the sudden news of his death, organization members displayed varying expressions.
It hinted at hardboiled action. Following the tagline "Everything began to be stained with blood," came intense gunfire and sharp blade-wielding scenes.
Meanwhile, 'Sad Tropics' opens in theaters on the 25th of next month.
