[Dispatch=Reporter Lee A Jin] A man who counter-sued actress Nana (real name Lim Jin A), former member of After School, has been referred to trial on charges of filing a false report.
Sublime released an official statement on the 21st stating, "Defendant A filed a counter-suit against Nana on charges of attempted murder and robbery with injury. In response, Nana immediately filed a counter-suit against the defendant on charges of filing a false report."
A broke into Nana's residence in Guri, Gyeonggi Province on November 15 of last year. He threatened Nana and her mother with a weapon and demanded money. During the process of subduing A, Nana and her mother each sustained injuries requiring 33 days and 31 days of treatment, respectively.
The first trial court sentenced A to seven years in prison last June. However, A appealed, denying that he possessed a weapon. He also sent a letter to media outlets claiming his innocence.
Furthermore, A counter-sued Nana on charges of attempted murder and robbery with injury. He claimed he was also injured during the subduing process. However, police determined Nana's actions to be legitimate self-defense and did not refer charges.
Subsequently, Nana filed a counter-suit against A on charges of filing a false report. Following witness questioning and mobile phone forensics, prosecutors additionally indicted A on charges of filing a false report in September. A is currently awaiting trial.
Finally, the agency stated, "We hope that the artist and their family will no longer suffer from false claims and secondary harm. We will continue to do our best to protect the artist's safety and mental well-being."
