[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Ah-jin] G-Dragon, BTS, Stray Kids, TXT, aespa, ENHYPEN, IVE, RIIZE, and CORTIS gathered in one place.
'D'FESTA THE ORIGIN' will be held from the 23rd of this month through the 30th of next month at the L3 MPX Gallery of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul.
'D'FESTA THE ORIGIN' is a large-scale exhibition bringing together 9 representative K-pop groups and artists—48 people in total. Over 30 large-scale filming sets were produced, with approximately 4 months of filming.
The starting point of the exhibition is 'origin'—the source. It traces back the dreams and passion that K-pop artists first held. Beyond music and performance, the artists' new sides are captured through various art forms including photography, video, fashion, and fine art.
It consists of various sections. First, 'THE NINEFOLD' unfolds the individuality of 9 teams through 18 stories. Different filming sets and directing were applied for each group. Different expressions and movements of the artists that could not be seen on stage were captured.
'HUES OF BLACK' is a large-scale black and white portrait measuring 8 meters wide and 4 meters tall. Vibrant colors were removed, and focus was placed on each member's unique atmosphere and gaze.
The highlight of the exhibition is 'KANON NO. 48'. A large-scale work completed by all 48 artists. The artist walked atop a massive structure, visually documenting contemporary K-pop. Different movements and rhythms harmonize into one.
Works directly created by artists can also be viewed. 'THE SQUEEZE' introduces drawings created by members themselves. 'LETTERS' contains handwritten letters and video messages conveyed to fans.
There is also a variety of content for visitor participation. A participatory program called 'THE ENCOUNTER' operates where visitors can listen to the artists' voices or take commemorative photos together. Visitors are also provided with an 'admission kit' consisting of photo tickets, stickers, and leaflets.
The 'D'FESTA' side stated, "'THE ORIGIN' was carefully worked on over a long time to present K-pop's most brilliant moments in a new artistic form," and expressed expectations that "in particular, 'KANON NO. 48' will become a valuable scene capturing K-pop on an overwhelming scale."
Meanwhile, 'D'FESTA THE ORIGIN' is scheduled to be held in sequence in major cities worldwide starting with Tokyo next January. Detailed information regarding exhibition dates and ticket reservations can be found on NOL Tickets.
