[Dispatch=Lee Myeong-joo] A man who broke into actress Nana's (35, real name Im Jin-a) home was sentenced to a heavy sentence in the appellate trial as well.
The Seoul High Court's Criminal Division 14-3 (Judges Jung Kyung-geun, Lee Hyung-geun, and Lee Hyun-woo) held an appellate sentencing hearing on the 22nd for Mr. A, who was indicted on charges of robbery and assault.
The court dismissed both the prosecutor's and Kim's appeals and upheld the original sentence. A was sentenced to 7 years in prison, the same as the first trial.
In particular, the court found the first trial verdict justified, considering that the crime occurred at night, the suspect entered the home with a weapon, and caused injury to the victim.
A is accused of breaking into Nana's home in Guri, Gyeonggi Province on November 15 last year and demanding money, but the attempt failed. It is reported that he threatened Nana's mother by choking her neck.
He also filed a complaint against Nana on charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault. He sustained injuries in the process of being overpowered. The police concluded the case with a decision not to forward it for prosecution.
Nana also filed a counterclaim against A on charges of false accusation. The prosecution recently indicted A on additional charges. Related trials are currently pending.
