[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju] Actor Sung Jun, singer and actress Chuu, and Moon Jihoon (Swings) are heading to the theater.
The distributor announced on the 27th that "'Gwangan: The Sejae's Woman' (hereinafter 'Gwangan') will have an exclusive opening at Lotte Cinema on the 18th of next month following its release on Resin Snack."
'Gwangan' is a short drama based on the webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of an assassin disguised as a court lady to assassinate the Sejae, who develops feelings of affection.
Sung Jun plays the ill-fated Sejae Lee Hyeon. He is a character who saved the country through his exploits on the battlefield but lives a life uncertain of when he will die due to the king's jealousy.
Chuu plays Eun-woo, an assassin ordered to assassinate the Sejae. She entered the palace under the guise of a court lady but, unfamiliar with palace customs and romance, is swayed by Lee Hyeon.
Park Jihoon takes on the role of Nam Hyul, the Sejae's only friend and bodyguard. He is a figure who can joke with the Sejae, whom everyone is wary of, bringing vitality to the drama.
Kim Eung-su plays Yeong-sang-dae-gam, who holds the fate of Lee Hyeon and Eun-woo in his hands. Jo Su-hyang plays Mi-hyang, Eun-woo's colleague, and Yeom Seung plays the Queen.
Director Jo Ba-reun directed the film. Director Jo said, "I tried to maximize the dangerous yet boundary-pushing romance texture that the original work has."
With theatrical release in mind, he focused on preserving the aesthetics of historical drama. He cited "the viewing point is the visual beauty that can be appreciated on a large screen."
Meanwhile, 'Gwangan' will be available for viewing at Lotte Cinema nationwide on the 18th of next month.
