[Dispatch=Reporter Tae-Yoon Jung] Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is updating yet another iconic character in his career.

The film "Scrooge: A Christmas Carol" (directed by Ty West) unveiled its main poster on the 27th. It is based on the classic novel "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, a celebrated British author.

"Scrooge: A Christmas Carol" is a gothic fantasy adventure. It tells the story that unfolds on a Christmas Eve night when ghosts appear before the ill-tempered miser Scrooge.

The main poster captures an intense and fantastical atmosphere. The master of transformation Johnny Depp this time takes on the role of the cantankerous old miser Scrooge.

He has proven his distinctive character portrayal across works such as "Edward Scissorhands," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," and "Alice in Wonderland."

With this film, he aims for the pinnacle of eccentric acting once more. The tagline "Three ghosts in one night" hints at an intriguing story.

Major Hollywood actors have also joined in large numbers. Ian McKellen from "The Lord of the Rings," Rupert Grint and Sam Claflin from "Harry Potter," and Daisy Ridley complete the ensemble cast.

"Scrooge: A Christmas Carol" opens in theaters on the 11th of next month.
