[Dispatch=Reporter Tae Yun Jung] The animated film "Chiikawa: The Secret of Mermaid Island" continued its box office success.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated cinema ticketing system, "Chiikawa: The Secret of Mermaid Island" drew 221,657 viewers during last weekend (October 30 - November 1). The cumulative audience stands at 2,383,857.

"Chiikawa: The Secret of Mermaid Island" opened on September 30 and has maintained the top spot for four consecutive weeks starting from the second weekend. It surpassed 2 million viewers in 25 days and 2.5 million in 33 days.

This marks a record 3 days ahead of "The First Slam Dunk" (36 days) in reaching 2.5 million viewers. It demonstrated sustained box office momentum at the same pace as "Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc" (33 days).

In second place during the same period was "Heart of Beast," starring Brad Pitt, which attracted 162,795 viewers. Its total audience is 215,242.

"The Secret Behind the Suneung," starring Lee Sun Bin and Ryu Jae Myung, followed. It drew 44,800 viewers with a cumulative audience of 71,768.
