[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Ah Jin] Actors Shin Min-a, Lee Jin-wook, and Yu Tae-oh will portray romance among adults.
MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Sumukmum' (written by Joo Hyun, directed by Jung Dong-yoon) revealed its casting lineup on the 5th. Shin Min-a, Lee Jin-wook, and Yu Tae-oh were among those named.
'Sumukmum' tells the story of rekindling love after reuniting with a first love after 12 years. Set against the backdrop of a restaurant of the same name, it depicts love, forgiveness, and growth.
Shin Min-a plays 'Cha Eun-soo.' She is a character who seeks out her first love from whom she parted 12 years ago. She lives as another man's wife, but harbors a yearning in her heart for the life she truly desires.
Shin Min-a presents a new side to herself. She has previously shown delicate emotional acting in 'Hometown's Embrace', 'Our Blues', and 'Reluctant to Lose.' This time, she takes on a character with a complex inner world.
Lee Jin-wook took on the role of 'Kim Dong-woo,' the chef of the restaurant 'Sumukmum.' When his first love Cha Eun-soo visits the restaurant, his once peaceful daily life begins to waver. Lee Jin-wook is expected to portray the poignant emotions of a man reunited with his first love.
Yu Tae-oh plays 'Lee Won-pil,' Cha Eun-soo's husband. An executive director at Han Gu Construction, he possesses both capability and wealth. He plays a character torn between love and desire, adding tension to the drama.
The production lineup is also impressive. Director Jung Dong-yoon of 'Gyeongseong Creature' and 'Stove League' will direct. Writer Joo Hyun of 'The World of the Married' and 'Wouk-ssi Nam-jeong-gi' writes the script. Writer Kang Eun-kyung of the 'Romantic Doctor Kim Sabu' series also participates as a creator.
Meanwhile, 'Sumukmum' is scheduled to air in the first half of next year.
