[Dispatch=Jeong Tae-yun] Band Hyukoh is making a comeback with a full-length album after six years.
Doruduru Artist Company released new profile images of Hyukoh, along with the cover artwork and presave link for the new album '33' on SNS on the 4th.
The new album comes approximately six years after '사랑으로' released in 2020. It continues the band's signature numerical title system with previous albums including '20', '22', '23', and '24'.
The album artwork was created by artist An Min-jung, who was selected last year as South Korea's youngest artist for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. She previously collaborated with Hyukoh on singles such as '갓스피드!', 'KoK', and '지는 날'.
Unlike the single artwork which directly captured the core image of each song, this time the album artwork is composed of densely layered lines and colors, giving an impression as if the long history of album work is condensed.
In particular, based on an in-depth interview with Oh Hyuk, the visual world of Hyukoh's music has been precisely translated. The narrative and world contained in '33' have been completed as sensory visuals.
Since August, Hyukoh has been presenting diverse singles, steadily building anticipation for the full-length album. '갓스피드!' conveyed the message that it is ultimately love that protects our repetitive daily lives.
The single 'KoK' released ten days later presented an experimental large-scale track with a runtime of 8 minutes and 27 seconds. It showcased the band's expanded spectrum.
'지는 날' released last month also pierced through the raw emotion of Hyukoh's early albums. '33' is expected to be the main edition that contains all the musical evolution the band has been contemplating.
Hyukoh will officially release the new album on major music streaming sites on the 25th at 6 p.m.
