Unchild has returned with an even more eccentric look. Seven months ago, they took their first steps into the music industry by showing free-spirited charm without being confined to a frame. This time, they have become even more quirky and lively.
They have transformed into heroes catching giant bug frogs. They incorporated this concept into music and performance as well. They completed a pleasant and bold atmosphere with an addictive melody and dynamic choreography.
Haeun said, "If we showed you the taste of a contrary frog in our debut album, this time it's the taste of a venomous frog," and asked for anticipation, saying "We will show you a lot of heroic aspects."
Unchild held a showcase on the 5th at NOL Theater Hapjung in Mapo-gu, Seoul to commemorate the release of their second digital single album 'TiNG TiNG'.
'TiNG TiNG' is an album that captures the way they enjoy even unexpected moments in their own way. You can feel Unchild's diverse personality, unrestrained confidence, and lovely atmosphere all at once.
Park Ye-eun said, "It contains the story of us going our own way," and explained "The key is to boldly reveal aspects that are different from others without hiding them."
A total of two songs are included. The title track of the same name and the B-side track 'Light' (TRICKY GRLS). First, the title track is in the French house genre. It is characterized by repetitive melody and intense beats.
Haeun said, "It's a song that shows an attitude of not hesitating even in the face of new signals and challenges," and introduced "We expressed in the lyrics how we enjoy the game in our own way."
The point choreography is the 'Dururu' hand dance. It's the motion of clenching your fists and tapping your head bouncy. Haeun hoped, "Since it's an easy move, I hope many people will follow along."
The music video is also unique. The members acted as a hero team called 'Bug Busters'. They went around catching a giant venomous frog that appeared in the city using their own weapons.
They performed intense action scenes. Haeun recalled, "Action was difficult at first because it's different from dancing," and said "Thanks to the director explaining one by one, I was able to handle it well."
The B-side track 'Light' is in the deep house genre. Evon said, "It's a song that expresses how we absorb all the various colors," and added "It's a metaphor for the way we have many things we're curious about and things we like."
Ako emphasized the lyrics. She said, "I saw that the whole world is not one color but ripples with numerous colors," and added "We maximized the lovely charm with vibrant words."
The stages of both songs were also showcased that day. In 'TiNG TiNG', they performed dynamic choreography that matched the upbeat song atmosphere. At the highlight, they brought out cheerful charm with jump choreography.
Above all, their facial expressions stood out. The members freely alternated between playful faces and intense gazes. In the latter part, they captivated attention with a powerful locking dance break centered on Haeun.
In 'Light', they created a different atmosphere. They showed softer dance lines matched with dreamy music. They also added light jumping motions repeated several times, not missing out on the quirky touch.
In the dance break, they reversed the mood. Sharp arm movements continued without pause. As the five members' arms blended together, they created a mysterious atmosphere as if swimming through space.
Unchild continues new album activities with a five-member formation. Heekie entered a period of rest for health reasons. Park Ye-eun conveyed, "I believe Heekie's recovery is most important. We will do our best in our respective positions."
They also confessed their feelings at the time the comeback was delayed. They originally planned to release the new album on September 2nd. However, about a week before the release, they postponed the schedule citing "internal company circumstances."
Evon said, "The disappointment was great as much as we waited," and revealed "We thought showing fans an even better side was the priority. We prepared the stage more diligently."
Finally, Evon exclaimed, "I think this album's concept is very unique. We prepared by immersing ourselves deeply as such," and said "I want to earn the modifier 'concept number one.'"
Meanwhile, Unchild will release the new album on various music sites at 6 p.m. that day.
