On September 27th, Kakao Entertainment announced that Han So-Hee has been selected to play the female lead character Princess Kayena in the dramatized version of ‘The Villainess is a Marionette’, a popular fantasy Webtoon series.
In the dramatized series, Cha Eun-Woo will play the male lead of Duke Kidrey along with Han So-Hee as Princess Kayena.
‘The Villainess is a Marionette’ is centered around Princess Kayena, who used to be a passive marionette doll-like figure controlled by her younger brother Les Jeff, but changes to a villainess to face her evil brother. Along the way, Kayena finds ways of fighting back her brother and partners with Duke Kidrey.
In the teaser poster released, Han So-Hee can be seen wearing a dazzling off-the-shoulder dress withsparkling jewels around her, looking like a perfect real-life version of the webtoon character. On the top corner of the poster it reads in Korean, “No on can stand on top of me”, predicting a fierce and powerful narrative to unfold in the series.
‘The Villainess is a Marionette’ is the fourth ‘Super Webtoon Project’ from Kakao Entertainment, and is the first to have cast top stars Han So-Hee and Cha Eun-Woo, leaving global fans ecstatic.
