The upcoming play 'Shakespeare in Love' is an adaptation of the 1998 movie of the same name. The storyline follows William Shakespeare in his youth who aspires to be a writer. Along the way, Shakespeare meets Viola de Lesseps who is the daughter of an aristocrat who strives to achieve her dream as an actress. The play unravels the romantic love story of William Shakespeare (played by Kim Sung-Cheol) and Viola de Lesseps (played by Kim Yoo-Jung).
Allure Korea magazine shared photos taken of the two actors Kim Sung-Cheol and Kim Yoo-Jung at a photoshoot. The two pictured a modern and classy look.
In a close-up interview that followed, the two generously expressed their affection for the play. Kim Sung-Cheol said, “I read Shakespeare’s play but never did I know that I would play the role of Shakespeare. I think our team did a great job of researching Shakespeare in depth.”
Kim Yoo-Jung, who is acting in her first genre of play added, “Since I was young, I have read a lot of Shakespeare. He made many achievements in his life that so many people admire even until this day. The reinterpretation of Shakespeare as a character was attractive and my role as Viola de Lesseps was appealing, which is why I decided to join the team.”
'Shakespeare in Love' will run from January 28th to March 26th at the CJ Towol Theater of Seoul Arts Center.
